I kind of like the Halo Reach Legendary Edition, I can appreciate its huge UNSC themed packaging, its flaming helmet code and its ten pound statue among other goodies. However, one hundred and forty-nine bucks is quite a chunk of change.

I’m still on the fence about this one–thoughts of the Halo 3 Legendary Edition marked down to 69.99 still dance in my head…

There’s plenty of time to make a decision, despite rumors of more limited quantities this time around preorders haven’t sold out yet. Here’s my current strategy though, if I have to have it (and I probably will.)

I’ve preordered Metroid: Other M at Amazon plus Madden NFL 11.

I’m going to wait to preorder the Legendary Edition right after the Metroid: Other M credit arrives, so hopefully that’s 40 dollars off the Reach Legendary Edition, which is a little easier to stomach.

Forty bucks shaved off the price of the Legendary edition for two games I would buy anyways? That’s not bad, plus you can always eBay the extra “recon” armor code for even more savings.

I’m not the biggest Halo fan, I don’t have room for more plastic-y limited edition goodness (I always say that) but the ten pound cool-looking statue is  probably the biggest reason I can’t resist.
