Performance and Gaming

In the performance department iQOO 7 is powered with Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC with 7nm technology used. It gives a rock solid performance in terms of all departments. In the Antutu score was near to 7 lakh mark and GFXBench score is around 60fps.

There is support of one band of 5G. This is a special display chip in the iQOO 7 i.e., the Pixelworks iris 5 display chip. that will carry features like MEMC, Always on HDR, and better video content optimization on the iQOO 7’s 120HZ AMOLED display.

In the gaming area it definitely gets heated up but for quicker and more even heat dissipation, the iQOO 7 liquid cooling system features a graphite layer that fully covers a surface area of 6,000mm2. So it stays cool, even when charging or in the heat of battle. It also comes with  Game Frame Interpolation that increases frame rates to 90 to 120fps.

Dual chip game display enhancement immediately improves the visual quality, such as colors and contrast, when gaming, and you can see the difference in real time when you allow or disable the functionality. This is accomplished by an algorithm in which a transition frame is squeezed in between two frames, resulting in higher frame rates.

Software and UI

It comes with FunTouch OS with Android 11. It tries close to the stock android but it comes with preinstalled bloatware in which few many can be removed but a few are still un installable. iQOO needs to work particularly in this area. Rest all transitions animations are smooth.

iQOO 7

On the main 48MP camera the dynamic range is good and images are properly saturated and are sharp and the colors are natural and pleasing to eye. Sometimes it tends to boost colors which most people will like it.

The human tones have a slight red tint that needs to be worked and the portrait shots are good and give good edge detection. The ultra wide shots are also good with nice dynamic range and sharpness. The front camera does a great job in taking photos in harsh conditions and gives good picture.

iQOO 7 can shoot upto a maximum of 4K at 30fps, 1080p at 30fps on the rear camera and front selfie camera can shoot upto 1080p at 30fps. the voice in the video is good in rear as well as front footage.

On the rear it has good quality with OIS it does decent stabilization but still some shaky moments are there can be resolved in the next software update. In the selfie camera the video footage was good but on stability there is room for improvements.

iQOO 7 comes with 4400mAh capacity battery with a 66W flash charger inside the box. It could have been around 5000mAh it would be good as it is a gaming centric mobile it needs more capacity.

For a normal usage given the capacity is good. It takes around 30 mins to charge from 0-100%. The on screen time is around 6 and half hours. It may vary according to the usage from person to person.
