A 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 primary camera is part of the triple camera setup on the OnePlus Nord 2 5G. An f/1.88 aperture is available on the primary camera, while a 119.7-degree field of view is offered on the 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle camera, and a 2-megapixel mono camera rounds out the camera’s features.

I found the pictures to have reasonable details and accurate colours when taken outdoors in daylight. Objects even from a distance could be recognized in pictures, and they looked like real photos. Even though the quality of the images has been reduced noticeably, the photos still look good in daylight.

It is very crisp and clear at close ranges, and the background has a natural-looking depth. Before taking a photo in the portrait mode, you can select the amount of blur that you want. There was a good separation between the output and the background, and the output had good edge detection.

Even though the phone’s Nightscape Ultra mode takes longer to capture a photo, the results are brighter and more detailed in the shadows because of the extra processing.

The Nord 2 has the capability of taking 32-megapixel selfies with spectacular clarity and naturalness, whether the light is bright or low. Also, there are a number of different selfie portrait modes for you to choose from, including masks! You can adjust the blur level on the phone before shooting a shot so that you can always get a perfect picture.

Even when the videos are only recorded in 4K at 30fps, they may only look great during walking scenes in the daylight – even after dark with a few shimmers here and there.

Verdict
As with previous OnePlus smartphones, the Nord 2 is a fantastic value. In terms of performance and price, it meets the company's core philosophy. In integrating OxygenOS with ColourOS, I hope that this won't change drastically. Poco F3 GT could be an alternative worth considering if you're only interested in gaming and performance. The OnePlus Nord 2 is an excellent all-rounder at this price point.
